The Grand Canyon University Men’s Lacrosse team is ranked No. 6 in the latest Under Armour Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) Division I Coaches’ Poll. It’s the third straight week that the Lopes occupy the No. 6 slot, and it’s the 26th straight poll (just over two years’ worth) that GCU has been ranked 6th or higher in the poll. The Lopes stay one of five Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC) teams ranked in the MCLA Top 25 (Chapman is 1st, Concordia-Irvine is 8th, Arizona State is 18th, and UC-Santa Barbara is 19th).
The Lopes (8-2) stayed in range of returning to the MCLA Top 5 with a hard-fought 12-9 victory Saturday night over the University of Arizona in Tucson. It was the second straight win for the Lopes, and helped them gain a split of their four-game road trip. The Lopes’ regular season schedule is down to one game, which will be played this Saturday, April 14 against the University of Nevada-Las Vegas at Prescott Field on the GCU campus at 1PM. Admission is FREE, and the Lopes will honor their outgoing seniors prior to the start of the game.
