The Grand Canyon University Men’s Lacrosse team is ranked 3rd in the Southwestern Lacrosse Conference (SLC) Preseason Coaches’ Poll.  The Lopes were chosen #3 in the rankings behind the other two SLC teams that joined the Lopes in the 16-team field of the 2018 Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) National Championships last May:  defending conference Chapman University, who’s picked 1st; and Concordia-Irvine, who faced the Lopes in last year’s SLC Semifinals.

The Lopes will enter the season seeking their 3rd national championship in the last five years, and will also be gunning for their third SLC title in the last five years as well.  The Lopes will commence their 2018-19 schedule on Saturday, February 23rd, when they host the University of California-Santa Barbara at noon at Prescott Field on the GCU campus.
