GCU Club Sports is proud to announce that the Grand Canyon University Men’s Ice Hockey Division II team is ranked 8th in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) West Poll. It’s the highest ranking in a national poll in the program’s two-year history, and it’s also their 3rd straight week in the ACHA Top 10. The Lopes expected to move up in the poll this week after posting a pair of victories over the weekend against last week’s 8th-ranked team, Weber State, 5-3 and 6-1. Those were the 7th and 8th wins GCU has posted over a ranked team: three over Weber State (now ranked 11th); a pair of victories over19th-ranked Long Beach State; and one each over No. 10 Arizona State, No. 14 Colorado State, and No. 15 Brigham Young University.
The 2017 portion of the Lopes’ 2017-18 schedule is NOW down to one matchup, and that’s an exhibition against the AHSHA Premier U18 team this Sunday, December 10, at AZ Ice Peoria. Game time is 1:30 pm, and admission is FREE.
