TESPA Club Spring Tournament First Split
In the first TESPA Club Spring Tournament split, the Lopes faced off against 300 teams in a single elimination tournament-style bracket, impressively finishing in eighth place.
The Lopes posted notable victories against formidable opponents, including a 2-1 defeat of GCU rival Arizona State University, and 2-0 shutouts over both University of Hawai’i at Manoa and Boston University.
During the tournament, the Lopes also faced off against California Polytechnic State University in an extremely close game, losing, 2-1, despite a hard-fought effort.
On the second split of the Club Spring Tournament, the Lopes will play their next set of matches on November 8 at 3:00 and 4:30 pm. The tournament will wrap up on December 13.
Swiss Bracket Varsity Invitational Tournament
In the seven-game Swiss Bracket Varsity Invitational Tournament, the Lopes nailed key victories against the University of Texas at Arlington, Hawkeye Community College (Iowa), University of Central Oklahoma, and Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
The wins pushed the Lopes into fourth place out of 24 teams. GCU now advances to the playoffs, which will kick off in December.
