National preparation has begun.
The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) ITC Sectionals is an annual tournament for collegiate bowling featuring the top 80 men’s and top 64 women’s teams from across the country. The Grand Canyon University Bowling program has earned the right to send both their men’s and women’s teams to compete in Dallas, Texas, March 9. The Lopes will be squaring off against programs like Wichita State University, McKendree University (Illinois), and Newman University from Wichita, Kansas.
The Men’s Team
From the very first match against Arizona State University back in October, the Lopes’ Men’s Bowling team has been completely on fire. Because of their stellar play, the team finished the regular season ranked 24th in the country. That is not only six rankings higher than last year, but also the highest in program history. Grand Canyon will be sending the following eight players to Dallas:

The Women’s Team
The season for the Lopes’ Women’s Bowling team has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but there has certainly been flashes of the team showing signs of greatness. They also finished the regular season strong, finishing 3rd overall when they last competed in Texas for the SWIBC Tournament. The Lopes’ women’s roster heading to Dallas is:

With only one more tournament scheduled in April, this will be a great opportunity for Grand Canyon to solidify themselves as one of the best teams in the country. USBC ITC Sectionals begin March 9, and will carry through the weekend.
