GCU Esports Recap: Lopes grab 4th at Global Loot Collegiate PUBG Grand Finals

Club hosting 2v2 League of Legends tourney this weekend

The Grand Canyon University PUBG Esports team placed fourth in the Global Loot Collegiate PUBG Grand Finals Saturday.

The Lopes finished the 16-team, 12-match tournament with 48 kills and 82 total points. Louisiana State University (LSU) won the tournament with a whopping 105 kills and 168 points. North Carolina State (99 kills, 147 points) and Arizona State University (60 kills, 90 points) took second and third, respectively. University of California, Berkeley (52 kills, 78 points) placed fifth to round out the Top 5.

With a fourth place finish, GCU won $350 of the $5,000 pot. LSU took home $2,500 in cash to go with its championship trophy.

Grand Canyon University Esports 2v2 Tournament

GCU Esports is hosting a pre-Thanksgiving 2v2 League of Legends tournament at the GCU Esports Arena. The tournament will be played this Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16 and 17, and will be contested on the Howling Abyss map.

The tournament will be streamed on the GCU Esports Twitch channel.
