The GCU eSports club program is a rapidly growing club sport on campus. The college eSports club provides an opportunity for everyone to participate in competitive and social events. More than 50 people attended tryouts in the initial year for three major titles: Overwatch, Counterstrike Global Offensive and League of Legends.
Each title competes in a respective collegiate league that is designed around each game. The fall semester offers warm-up leagues, which prepares participants for spring semester competition against teams from other colleges in the region.
The GCU college eSports club team is excited about its rapid growth and looks forward to expanding the program.

Chris Unquera is entering his second year as the coach of GCU eSports club. He has built this club from a one-game club to a multiple-game club with a new gaming facility for practices. He believes the expansion of the club and addition of a facility will be major factors for continued growth in the coming years. He also hopes to help participants improve in their respective games and grow in their daily lives.
Coach Unquera married his beautiful wife, Hannah, in October of 2016.
